Henry Recuperating From Surgery

Update 2/26/10

He will be available soon for Adoption!!! Henry has returned to his foster home and has been in full recuperation mode, sleeping and suckling his favorite stuffed pug Douglas. Dr. Gumfory is thrilled with his progress now that he's moving his back legs separately at low speeds and making his way around on all fours. He is off all pain medication and is working on finding the best dose of prednisone to alleviate his discomfort and keep him as mobile as possible. He even tried to pug run with his foster sister yesterday, running and doing his trademark "quack-bark" with glee. We can't wait for Henry to be fully recovered, as he wants to visit all the meet-n-greets and play with his pug-friends and supporters. Thanks again to everyone for all your support and good thoughts; they have certainly helped!

Hi everybody, I'm Henry. I am two-year old little man with loving eyes and a strong spirit. I was found

in Canton, TX in October, having suffered fractures to my hips and possible nerve damage. Fortunately,

some compassionate people rescued me and delivered me to a clinic, afterwhich I was transferred to the

good folks at DFW pug rescue. They have taken very good care of me, and I've already had an MRI and

surgery to my right femoral head. I'm recovering from surgery now in my foster home, doing my physical

therapy and trying to regain mobility in my back legs because running and playing are some of my

favorite things to do! I need donations to cover the costs of my surgery, as well as any further recommended treatment. I am grateful for your support, which I promise to repay by joining a loving forever home as soon as I recover and giving lots of pug joy.

Dallas/Ft Worth Pug Rescue Club is the largest pug rescue organization in the United States and has rescued and placed over 4,500 huggable, squeezable, absolutely adorable pugs — we rescue approximately 10 pugs a week. All pugs are fully vetted - they are current on shots, heartworm treatment, neutered/spayed and mircro-chipped. We take in more pugs than any other group, and unlike any other group we will take them regardless of age or medical condition
